Plymouth’s latest offsite exhibition is now open and features works by selected members of the Plymouth Society of Artists. This is the first in a series of exhibitions that will be staged on the ground floor of the Council House while the Museum and Art Gallery building is closed for redevelopment.

Artists of the South West Academy, together with new Academicians and Associates, bring together a body of work for its second successive Winter Exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton. The show celebrates a wide selection of work, giving an insight into the expertise and technical skills of established members and new appointments alike, focusing on painting, photography, printmaking and ceramics.
The Gallery looks to become a regular in the calendar of Academy shows.

Intriguing news for many local to Cornwall and to some nationally, even internationally, has been the staged journey of the tallest puppet ever built in the UK.
Despite uncharacteristic summer weather, huge numbers invaded the village of Minions to see the visit of the Man Engine on its journey through Cornwall. It was probably the greatest number of people ever to gather in this tiny village. The narrow approach roads on the high moor were clogged with traffic well in advance of its appearance to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the ten distinct Cornish mining districts being made a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
